Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA and HONG KONG--(Marketwire - June 5, 2012) - Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited ("Comba" or the "Group") (HKSE: 2342), a global leading wireless solutions provider, announced the completion of a contract to supply and deliver a wireless communications system for Malaysia's Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel ("SMART Tunnel") -- the world's longest multi-purpose tunnel at almost 10 kilometers. A major national project, the tunnel solved the problems of flash floods and eased traffic congestion in Kuala Lumpur and is an essential part of the transport infrastructure in the city with daily traffic of over 30,000 vehicles.

Comba successfully implemented the complete project providing multi-operator, multi-system 2G/3G distributed antenna system (DAS) products and solutions. Under the contract, Comba's wholly-owned Malaysian subsidiary Comba Technologies Sdn Bhd is providing full maintenance services. The completion of this project has facilitated ubiquitous wireless voice and data experience with seamless handover at high speeds within the tunnel.

Comba's DAS solution operates at the GSM900, GSM1800 and UMTS frequencies used by Malaysia's operators Digi, Celcom and Maxis in this project.

Mr. Eric Ng, General Manager of Comba's operations in Southeast Asia, said, "We are delighted to be the wireless solutions supplier for the SMART Tunnel -- one of the major infrastructure projects in Malaysia. The modular design of our multi-system DAS allows us to deploy a cost-effective and rapid deployment solution that is particularly suitable for such scenarios."

Mr. Ng added, "Comba was awarded this project as a result of our service and support capabilities in addition to the effectiveness of our solutions. In fact, Comba has a long history and accumulated experience in wireless enhancement projects for transport infrastructure around the world such as China's Wuhan-Guangzhou and Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Rail Systems, Rio de Janeiro Metro System in Brazil, Taiwan's High Speed Rail and Singapore's underground Marina Coastal Expressway amongst many others."

The SMART Tunnel is a storm drainage and road structure in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The tunnel comprises of 9.7 kilometer of stormwater bypass tunnel and a 4 kilometer double deck motorway. In 2011, the SMART Tunnel was given the UN Habitat Scroll of Honor Award for its innovative and unique management of storm water and peak hour traffic.
