LONDON--(Marketwire - September 28, 2012) - Bruno Wang has been a world traveler since he was a boy, and many of those travels involved spending time in China. As such, Bruno Wang wants to make sure that the public is aware of two recent articles published that describe the ongoing growth of the use of social media Web sites, micro-blogging Web sites and user forums that is currently occurring in China. These articles state that this growth is occurring despite the alleged censorship that occurs in other forms of Chinese media. These articles were published on Bloomberg.com and PRWeekUS.com, respectively, and they state that these Web sites are growing in part because of their ability to circumvent this alleged message censorship.

Specifically, Bloomberg.com recently published an article regarding the microblog known as Weibo.com. The article stated that this Web site, which is described as the Chinese equivalent of Twitter.com, now has over 300 million registered users and the site hosts more than 100 million posts by these users on a daily basis. The functionality of Weibo.com is also much like Twitter in that it integrates thread comments, thereby enhancing the information dissemination function of the Web site.

In addition, PRWeekUS.com recently published an article that stated that Douban.com is an emerging social media Web site in China that serves as a combination of social media, blogging and forum Web site for its millions of users. The article goes on to state that while the Chinese government still does track the messages posted on Weibo.com, it is becoming a powerful force in the Chinese public relations industry.

Bruno Wang has spent a lot of time in China and he has been watching to see how the phenomena that include social media Web sites, micro-blogging Web sites and other forms of online information dissemination have been developing. It is his hope that this trend continues so that the Chinese people can receive up-to-date information regarding news and other topics.
