Celebrities Promote Cincinnati With Music Video "Cincinnati's Singing"

CINCINNATI, OH--(Marketwire - June 4, 2012) - Jerry Springer and six other celebrities who love their hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio are singing for the city in a new music video called "Cincinnati's Singing," making a splash on YouTube.

The music video is a remake of Proud Mary, produced by Cincinnati resident and international funk master Bootsy Collins, with new lyrics by Cincinnati Council Member Laure Quinlivan. City leaders are promoting Cincinnati as The City That Sings as they prepare to host The World Choir Games in July 2012. This is the first time the international singing competition, the Olympics of choral music, will be held in North America. More than 20,000 people from 60 countries will compete.

"Cincinnati's musical heritage started in the 1800s and is as strong as ever today, a primary reason they selected Cincinnati to host the World Choir Games over cities like Los Angeles and Atlanta," says Council Member Laure Quinlivan.

Celebrities with strong ties to Cincinnati answered Quinlivan's call to donate their star power to sing in this music video, and promote Cincinnati's world-class arts and culture.

"Cincinnati is my life," says talk show host Jerry Springer, who was born in Brooklyn, New York. "I got my start in politics here, I was Mayor here, I got married here, even my silly show started here. I owe my life to Cincinnati."

Singer and TV Host Nick Lachey and his wife TV host Vanessa Minnillo of Entertainment Tonight plan to raise the baby they are expecting this Fall in Cincinnati.

"I started singing at the School for the Performing Arts in Cincinnati," says Lachey. "I really enjoyed growing up here. It's a great place to raise a family, a great place for values and tradition. It's hard to communicate to people who aren't from here because it really is a special and unique place."

Scenic Cincinnati locations and local performers are featured in the video along with Jerry Springer, Nick Lachey and Bootsy Collins. Other celebrities singing the city's praises include NYC's Naked Cowboy, Actor and Comedian Gary Owen, "Dancing With the Stars" winner and singer Drew Lachey, and "American Idol" finalist, teen heartthrob Eben Franckewitz.
